Acceres acquires Certis R&D activities in Germany

Acceres has acquired the German research and development centres of Certis Europe.

After acquiring the field-testing activity of Phyteurop (subsidiary of Bioline by Invivo) in 2018 and Biotek Agriculture (European field trial company) in late 2019, this new acquisition of Certis Europe strengthens the value-added services offered by Acceres, while expanding its footprint in Germany and across Europe.

Certis R&D activities in Germany are comprised of 15 staff in two facilities: the R&D Centre (13 staff) based in Christinenthal (north of Hamburg) and an additional field station (two staff) located in Bad Durkheim (near Mannheim). R&D activities include early stage efficacy testing, formulation services, compatibility testing of tank mixes, and same management for commercial and regulatory trials in Germany and abroad.

“We are proud Certis Europe has chosen Acceres to outsource their development and field testing activities in Germany. Except with our regulatory expertise, we had no presence in Germany,” said Yvonnick Jambon CEO of Acceres. “Our customers require quality, communication and expertise, (and) having highly skilled staff is key to success. We have now a great team of experts to answer and anticipate customer’s needs.”

Acceres is also in the process of merging with SynTech Research. Acceres stated the move demonstrates the company’s business growth and quality objectives to form a world-leading global agricultural R&D contract research organization. From field studies to outsourcing the development of whole products, up to registration and beyond, the combined offer will enable the new company to reach a new dimension and become a dominant global player in this sector.
